We celebrated our 65th Independence!

15th August 1947, a date remembered, cherished and celebrated as a day of independence from British rule. The day is marked by flag hoisting, parades, singing national anthem and playing patriotic songs over all parts of India. This year during Independence day I was lucky enough to be a part and witness the celebration in Kolkata. The Red road was decade in Tri-colours , the whole ambiance was enough to give me goosebumps. The celebration began with hoisting of flag and singing national anthem. After which began the parade, motor bike formation, tableaux display and performance by students of various schools on different patriotic song.  The effort of each and every person to make the celebration worthy was revealed by their performance but, I personally feel its a very small tribute that we can pay to the sacrifice made by the brave sons and daughters of Mother India. Those courageous souls tho didn't think once before sacrificing their life just for the sake that their next ge

A pain deep within

"How long am I supposed to cry for this mistake of my life and when is the suffering going to end? Was  trusting a person blindly such a big fault of mine that even after two years I cant wipe the reference of it from my life...Once a dream has become a nightmare for me now..A guy walks up to you, makes u happy , cares you, makes promises of being together, makes you feel like a princess and then one day u realize it was all a lie.. Every sec was a drama of which unknowingly U were a part ",  cried my friend in front of me... I felt so helpless..She wasn't ready to cheer up although I tried a lot. I have many a times watched her silently cry whenever this reference has come up. Perhaps I wont understand her pain.  But... I want to say her a few things.. hope you read this and understand... Coz the faster you do the better for U " U will suffer only till U want to..why should you cry for a wrong doing of another person..There are millions of people on Earth and

"A Brief Walk Down The Memory Lane"

I was searching my cupboard for a CD, when suddenly my hands touched a packet. A broad Smile decorated my face as I peeped into the content... CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lots and Lots of  Birthday , New Year , Valentine’s day, Rakhi, Farewell, Christmas, Diwali Cards that were gifted to me during this 24 years of my journey !!! I forgot completely about the cd and browsed through my collection. It reminded me of all the smiling faces who gifted me this lifelong treasure. The oldest card I found was given to me by my paternal grandparents when I was 7 years old, a handmade card with Mickey Mouse on top. My grandparents are no more alive but their wishes are still lively in the card and my memory! Most of the cards were from my school and college days...Strange, we didn’t earn then but still saved pocket money to buy these items to bring smile on our loved ones face. The whole idea being so selfless and pure. It made me feel so proud and rich. It made me feel loved and cared…A thoug

Rath Yatra Festival

"India is the land of diversity. The land of seven Union territories, twenty eight states , billions of people but above all a land enriched with cultural and historical significance. Many festivals are celebrated which gives a platform for people to move out of the regular schedule to rejoice with their loved ones . Recently on 21st June,2012 Rath yatra was observed.  Rath yatra festival is celebrated to honour the memory of  Lord Jagannath's visit to Gundicha mata's temple via aunt's home. Although, originated in Jagannath Puri on the eastern coast of the state of Orissa this festival is celebrated in different parts of India  on Ashad Shukla Dwitiya.  Every year the Lord Krishna, Balaram and Subhadra are traditionally installed on huge chariots and pulled by the devotees through the streets. Sharing a few pics of this auspicious festival's celebration in Kolkata."

Heaven On Earth

The joy of visiting places and getting to know the unknown is the best feeling one can have... I am lucky to be able to experience this joy... I have been to many hill stations and comparing any one with the other will be doing injustice with Nature.. Each place is unique in its way.. Recently visited Nainital and felt blessed to be able to spend a few days there..Being my Birthday gift the trip meant a lot more than any other.. The view of the Naini lake with mountains in background and clouds kissing the surface of water with its movement was magical. The only word which I could utter was Heavenly! Apart from the Naini lake the sadiatal waterfall, the Eco caves, St John's Church , St Francis Catholic church, Mukteshwar Temple, Tea garden of Shyamkhet and lots more made the trip to Nainital even more complete..
