"A Brief Walk Down The Memory Lane"

I was searching my cupboard for a CD, when suddenly my hands touched a packet. A broad Smile decorated my face as I peeped into the content... CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lots and Lots of  Birthday , New Year , Valentine’s day, Rakhi, Farewell, Christmas, Diwali Cards that were gifted to me during this 24 years of my journey !!!

I forgot completely about the cd and browsed through my collection. It reminded me of all the smiling faces who gifted me this lifelong treasure. The oldest card I found was given to me by my paternal grandparents when I was 7 years old, a handmade card with Mickey Mouse on top. My grandparents are no more alive but their wishes are still lively in the card and my memory!
Most of the cards were from my school and college days...Strange, we didn’t earn then but still saved pocket money to buy these items to bring smile on our loved ones face. The whole idea being so selfless and pure. It made me feel so proud and rich. It made me feel loved and cared…A thought ran in my mind to make a collage of all these cute wishes, although all couldn't be fit into the frame but each card is worth a million to me!
E- Cards today have almost replaced the practice of gifting cards to mark an occasion. But the happiness felt when suddenly you come across a hand-made or a purchased card containing the hand written message given long back is uncomparable!!!!!! I will always cherish this treasure of mine!!!!

Injustice has to end.. & fast !

Our maid was terribly unhappy today. While working she constantly blamed God and her sister's misfortune. On asking the reason she burst out "My sister already has two female child and today she delivered the 3rd..She and her damn luck..The husband and her in-laws are very angry..They are planning to leave the child in hospital itself" I was still in bed when her painful shriek reached my ears.. & her statement made me immovable.. My heart pained for the little child who was barely some hours old....innocent & unaware of the world she has landed into.. The people who have brought her to this world wish to abandon her within hours  merely b'coz of the reason that she is a GIRL !!!!!! Where is a girl lagging behind nowadays???? She is excelling in education, competing on same platform with the "So-called superior" men to get job and excelling there as well.. They are managing work with home.. Giving birth to new life and fighting every se...

Heaven On Earth

The joy of visiting places and getting to know the unknown is the best feeling one can have... I am lucky to be able to experience this joy... I have been to many hill stations and comparing any one with the other will be doing injustice with Nature.. Each place is unique in its way.. Recently visited Nainital and felt blessed to be able to spend a few days there..Being my Birthday gift the trip meant a lot more than any other.. The view of the Naini lake with mountains in background and clouds kissing the surface of water with its movement was magical. The only word which I could utter was Heavenly! Apart from the Naini lake the sadiatal waterfall, the Eco caves, St John's Church , St Francis Catholic church, Mukteshwar Temple, Tea garden of Shyamkhet and lots more made the trip to Nainital even more complete..

"The First Shower of Monsoon"

I was travelling by bus, busy playing game on mobile when a drop fell on my cheeks.. startled I looked through the window to find it was drizzling! A thought echoed in my mind "In this fast pace life and super busy schedule we often forget to even admire the beauty of nature".  The sky looked so beautiful..loaded with clouds -at some place dark black, at some other part grey, other sides white with a tinge of orange in it. As the rain gained momentum the scene outside also changed. Some people rushed to find a shade, some roadside kids jumped and played in rain, a few couples walked on the pavement holding hands.they seemed so irrespective and unaware of the changing situation around and I inside the bus held my hands and face out to feel the rain drops. The air filled up with the sweet fragrance of wet mud..It was pure bliss !!!  Nature truly has immense pleasure to offer it only depends on us whether we find time to experience...
